Study in New Zealand

New Zealand has 3 categories of educational institutions public universities, polytechnics and Private Training Providers. New Zealand Qualifications Authority provides accreditations to these private institutions for issuing degrees and diplomas. NZ courses are relatively affordable as Tuition fee and Living costs are lower owing to the NZD exchange rates in comparison to AUD, USD & other currencies. Other than the popular Engineering, sciences and Management courses New Zealand also has a variety of English language, aviation flight training, air traffic control, business computing, dance, design and arts, religious studies, travel and tourism and hospitality courses to choose from.

New Zealand offers options for both undergraduate and post graduate programs. A student can choose from a degree or diploma based on their qualification and interest. Both of them are recognized for jobs within New Zealand and immigration purposes.

Test Requirements

All students have to demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency, measured by an IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0 or PTE 53, except those enrolling for a Diploma course (VET) in which case 6.0 or 53 is acceptable. Please note that TOEFL score is not acceptable and IELTS or PTE is compulsory even if the student has studied in English medium institutions throughout his/her academic career.

Job Prospects

International students in Australia with student visa can apply for permission to work. Students are permitted to work 20 hours per week during semesters and full-time during vacation periods. In some cases family members can apply for permission to work. It is not difficult to find part time jobs in Australia to supplement your living expenses. You can only apply for a visa with work rights after you arrive in Australia and have begun studying.
